Ancient Forest - Original Cyanotype Print

This image brings together a photograph I shot in an ancient forest in the Canary Islands, called The Forest of Garajonay, and a second image taken of model Kit. I love how she emerges out of the forest like an ethereal creature.

An ancient forest is an undisturbed woodland that has existed continuously for hundreds of years, every tree covered in moss, completely magical.

This is part of my Shallows series, double exposure cyanotypes where I merge digital and analogue images, both printed separately onto acetate, layered together, and bound as one image using the cyanotype process. Two images taken on top of each other on the same piece of film. No Photoshop.

Each print is hand printed, signed and numbered. Available as a variable edition of 50. 21cm x 29cm.

As this is entirely hand printed, each piece carries its own subtle variations in tone and shadow, meaning every print in the edition is quietly unique.
